Four Youth News

There are four 'youth groups' at the Congregational UCC for youth in 4th grade through 12th grades. Church members, guests and friends are welcome to come take part in the appropriate age group. Each group has its own name, logo, and meeting time. Monthly postcards are mailed to each youth with times and changes as well as the month's activities. All the groups have a focus on individual and group faith development and mission. Feel free to call Pastor Suzy (630-584-0929) with questions.

Helping Hands is for 4th & 5th grade youth. HH usually meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 5-6pm. Helping Hands is the mission oriented youth group. We do a variety of mission projects for the church, the community and perhaps the world. Beginning in September and continuing throughout the year every third Wednesday, the youth will work on projects for Lazarus House Homeless Shelter, Raking for our shut-ins, gardening for our church and other projects. Join us.

TGIJ (Thank God It's Jesus) is open to middle school youth. TGIJ meets twice a month usually on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays from 6-7:15. Occasionally there are meals during that time frame. We are looking forward to another great year filled with fun energy, faith growth and mission.

Confirmation is a class program geared towards eighth grade youth, yet is open to older youth who have not been confirmed. Confirmation begins in the fall and concludes with a confirmation service the first weekend of May. Confirmation meets various times throughout the year to help the 8th graders explore their faith.

GF (Galilee of Friends) is the high school aged youth fellowship which meets weekly on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:15. GF also has trips, service projects and special events throughout the year. Every Wednesday evening they gather and continue to growth in their faith as they develop a community of Christian friends. All are welcome. Join us for fellowship, fun, and lots of activities. Group trips are planned for Spring break and summer.
